looking for recommendations for proection on an android tablet

I have recently acquired two new polaroid android tablets running Ice cream sandwich and am looking for advice on what protection antivirus/ anti malware, antispyware recommendations I should install.

Just this morning I watched a TV interview with a Symantec spokesman discussing mobile security. He mentioned the two most important steps in protecting mobile devices as:

1. Set up and use a password. So many people don't perform this simple step - too much trouble. A proper password will stop 99% of anyone trying to access your mobile device without authorization.

2. Enable any remote wipe functions that your mobile device might have, in case you do happen to lose your device and you need to erase your important personal data.

 

Thanks for the tips but I think of these tablets as little computers and would think that they would be vulnerable to attack just like a computer. I'm still am somewhat surprised that their aren't more products out targeted at protecting you and your computer when on these devices. (opening a separate thread to ask what software is recommended for my cell phone next after searching for available information)
