looking for spec's of a dirtbike

i am looking for info on a bike its a 1985 Honda XL250R-F i need things like max speed and such is there anyone that might beable to help me?

 

They're good for about 80mph ish... the pitiful old speedo will read over 90 though...
How detailed info do you need?

 

Guesstimate of about 70-80mph.

Forgot to mention, if you're buying one, some models suffered from cracking on the cylinder head (outwards from the spark plug hole), so check first.

 

nit it has no speedo on it because it was removed like the lights. and btw i did use google and i found nothing but i gave up after the first few sites. (dang dialup) thanks insom that site help on quite afew things . no i am not buying one i am selling one the piston was torn up the guy still wants it for the engine to put in a raptor to replace its blown up engine.


i am selling it for a friend and can you guess what i am getting out of this?

the guy buying it is giving me a Honda Big Red 300 (nothing worng with it looked at it my self not even a mark on the fenders) all that for getting my friend to sell it to him

I used to own a Honda XL250, among others, years ago.

They were, and are, a great dirt and trail bike in their day.

 

Well if anyone wants to know. i am getting the BigRed sometime this week i am going to take before and after pic's of it and if you wanna see just ask and i will posts the pic's.



BTW today i went with a friend over to see what this one guy had and you would not beleave it. this guy (man who owns gerret gas co,) has 7 1985 Honda 300, and 250es BigReds in ment cond. what he told us was when they were made honda gave a police department 9 or more of them and they have been sitting for 20years in storage. they look brand NEW. they have there original tires (they still on the tits on them) original oil (looks clean as can be) not even a peice of dust on them. they look like they were just bought and shiped from the Honda factory. when i seen them i about past out from the way they looked. they were that nice.

 

This guy is selling these brand new bikes to you? How much?

lets see how i can put it. they guy buying the 250R dirtbike is giving me a 1985 Bigreb 250ES. its another guy that has all the clean looking Bigreds and the guy giving me one is buying from that guy that has all them clean looking bigreds (i'm not buying one dont have the cash.
