I have an old HP laptop from about 2007. The HD got scratched and I need to buy a new one. I entered in the serial number and type of hardrive in google and thought I found it. It showed up at my house and its not the right one. I try finding it on google and it just brings up this one

This is not the drive im looking for this one kind of snaps in.. The one I have is more older and has like prongs on it that I have to line up with the prongs inside the hard drive chassy.

The brand of the hard drive is Western Digital. I will post exactly what it says on the back of the hard drive.

Someone please help before I put my first through a wall lol.

And since my luck is horrible and im sure someone will respond with the product is discontinued. It would be appreciated if anyone could find a one thats like it which snaps into the laptop with the prongs.

Most original laptop HD have an "adapter" or caddy attached that you reuse with the new drive.

Take a look at your old HD and see if the actual connection area is a reusable piece that slides off and will reconnect to your new drive.

If the replacement you bought is a SATA drive, which most likely it is the caddy should fit.

    Hi,

You are not forgetting to swap the connector adaptor from the old drive to the new one are you? Look closely and you may see that the adaptor pulls straight off. Helped several guys that missed that one.

    Good Luck, Jim

P.S. Sorry. Didn't notice that Sach2 had already suggested that prossibility.
