I'm fixing my old computer going to give it to my mom along with my monitor so I need to buy a new one. I'm going with a CRT monitor just don't know whats good these days. Willing to spend around 600.

One other thing some how I lost the cable that plugs into the back of the psu having trouble finding one on newegg what's it called.

Power cord? They're all the same so it shouldn't be hard to find.

As for a monitor, I'd have to say it depends on what it's for. If it's gaming, I'd recommend going LCD instead of CRT, for various reasons. Be sure to check the dead pixel policy of wherever you're buying. That's the number of pixels that have to be dead for it to be considered defective.

If its for gaming I'd have to disagree crt will blow any lcd away and for a fraction of the price, unless space is a serious issue crt's still lead in visual performance,I think people these days are still amazed at how a picture comes out of something so thin and also lcd screens are more damage prone. :)

The cable that plugs into the back of the PSU with the two or three pins is called an IEC cable.

I also think if you have the room CRT's are far superior to LCD's, but that's your choice.

If you do decide on an LCD, at least get one with a no dead pixel warranty.

I have the NEC 19" version of that monitor and I have never seen nor used a better monitor. Great colour, great contrast and awesome brightness.
