Looking to play grand theft auto 5

    I don't have my desktop setup yet.

    I was wondering if i am able to play the GTA 5 on my moms Gateway NV57H57u

    Here are my specs.

    I would like to play it.I have the physical copy of the game not a steam version i know it will take a while to install it has 7 CD's and then there is the update after that.

    I can play star trek online which is a huge video hog just fine on this.The only thing that might give me an issue is the Video card that i see.Any help i would appreciate it.

    That IGP isn't strong enough.

    Looks like your mom's computer might work on very low settings, or might not work at all . . . but I suppose you could try. It has enough RAM on the lower end of the specs, but the processor is not a true 4 core processor. It only has two cores, but is hyperthreaded which emulates two more cores. Interesting you mentioned Star Trek online . . . as I recall it required a dual core processor, and I played it on a P4 3.0E ghz processor - which was a single core that was hyperthreaded - and it worked fine, so the i5 2430 might not be a big issue with GTA.

    The Intel HD Graphics 3000 will be your bottle neck. I've seen a Youtube vid where people have played it using those graphics, but at very low settings.

    Adrynalyne is probably spot on. It's certainly worth a try as you won't be out anything, but I wouldn't expect fantastic graphics even if it does work.

    i was able start playing GTA 5 on this laptop and it runs just fine in window mode.:-D
