    1. Frodo has the one ring and must leave the shire to destroy it.
    2. Frodo goes to meet Gandolph as the Prancing Pony Tavern. I think that was the name.

I'm going to take a crack at trying to guess what the answers are that you are looking for, even though the questions are rather vague.

Question 1.Why does Frodo decide to leave the shire completly?

The black riders know the ring is in the Shire and if he stays they will destroy the Shire.

    Question 2.Where does he go?

To The Prancing Pony in Bree.

Question 3.Who is he to meet there?

    Gandalf.

Question 4.What disappointment meets him when he gets there?

    Gandalf is not there.

Are the movies that much differant than the books?
I read the books (the Hobbit first) a long time ago
and I have not yet seen any of the films. . .
    I really enjoyed the books
but alot of films tend to dissapoint me. . .they just arent the same as the books
I figured with all the good things I've heard of the films

they were real close, but as I see this:

    I am not sure. . . .

The biggest reason I have not and most likely will not see any of the movies, right there. I've read the books dozens of times, made the most excellent mind-movies...there is no possible way that anything Hollywood could produce would be that cool, and there is also no possible way that they could take each of those books and make a 90-minute movie out of them without screwing it up and/or leaving a whole great big huge PILE of stuff out.

Actually, each movie was 3 hours or so long, and the director did a good job of following the books and the spirit of the story. There will be a DVD extension set of the whole trilogy that will incude additional scenes, like the death of Sarumon - don't remember the rest employee at a video store told us about that.

Well, I think the movies are incredible, fantastic, and amazing. They are not completely true to the books, but most fans would agree that they are close enough. Turning a book into a movie is not easy, many said these could never be done. I love the books and I love the movies. Anything left out or changed from the books makes sense considering the format. The LotR movies are my favorite movies of all time. The books are my favorite books of all time.

Truth is, there is a lot of stuff in the books that I am glad he left out of the movies. Also, having read the books first, I was able to explain things a little more to my wife while we watched the movies. She had not read the books yet (she is now!). She also loves the movies. We watch one of them most every other week.

If you are going to get one, get the extended edition as those are more on the line of what Peter Jackson wanted them to be like. If you don't see these movies, you are missing out on possibly the most amazing movies of all time.
