Losing another family member.

    Our yellow lab, who is @13 yrs. old. It's a hard decision as to when it is time to put a pet down, but he has been having problems now for a few weeks and we have decided it is time. He showed up on our doorstep 11 yrs ago and wouldn't leave. He commandeered our easy chair for himself and took up residence. Sweetest dog in the world, tolerated our ferrets and never gave us a minute of trouble. We will miss him. :(

    :( Sorry Tim. Such a horrible decision to have to make. Because you love him, you will always know it's the right one.

    My condolences. It sounds like she gave you 11 wonderful years... And vice versa.

    So sad to hear. And always sucks that its an animal cause to most they are just added children. I got 2 cats at my family house that are 15 year old and getting there as well...:(

    So sad. Not much you can do other then say sorry for the loss. And like you said so many great memories they give you to remember a life time.

    Did ya bury on your land? I've got a mini pet cemetery on my land. It just 'feels' better somehow to me, knowing that they're 'just over there'. I better stop before the salt water erodes my keyboard.

    Yeah I always joked later on that we've got pet cemetery due to having like 4 cats and a dog in the yard. And my family lives in a normal town/house/yard. Also our last recent pet was a dog that died and it passed in the winter when really stunk cause of the frozen ground I had to dig. luckly i was prepared with tools tho.

    Ouch Tim... I'm sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose a pet, and so difficult to make that last decision when the time comes. :(

    Tim, so sorry about your loss. :( Losing a family member is just the most terrible thing that can happen.

    I know how it feels like and kept my cat's favorite toys and when I touch them it creates sad but also happy memories of the times we played together.

    Sorry to hear that Tim. It was hard as hell when I had to put Fred down... I feel for you. It is the last service you can do for a pet that has lived a good life, and it is time for them to go.

    Tim, so sorry to hear about your yellow lab. It's a hard choice but you made the unselfish one, putting his needs first even though you will all miss him.

    Not a great period of time you you and family Tim so the passing of a great family pet and more so friend is very sad :(

    We do have a pet cemetery on our land. I can't count or recall the total number of pets we have interned there. Dippy is the first that we didn't bury there. It's been over 100 degrees for a few weeks now and the ground is like concrete. We will just place his collar in a special place for remembrance. Thank you all for your kind words.
