I can't connect to ESPN or any other sports sites....I also can't see profiles.

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
      • CounterSpy
      • AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy
      • Bitdefender - from step 6
      • Panda Scan - from step 6
      • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
      • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • HijackThis
NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

Sorry this has taken so much time, my local server has been down. CounterSpy found nothing.

    You are missing 3 attachments:

    Bitdefender - from step 6
Panda Scan - from step 6
    runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat

And you did not follow the directions for installing and renaming HijackThis. You are running it directly from the ZIP file which is exactly what we request that you not do. Please follow the directions in step 7 and attach a new HJT log.

Also let's get your Sun Java updated and uninstall the old versions!

Uninstall the below old versions of software:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 8
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2

Now install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment

I'm not seeing any issues based on the two logs you did attach. Are you still having problems?

you asked if anything was still wrong, to explain the website thing further.
if i type in www.espn.com it takes me to the yahoo search page and lists espn but, it will never connect me directly too espn.
I also in earlier tools found and removed a CWS.

I have found that there are quite a few websites that after entering them they come up to a search page then will not connect.

You still have not renamed HijackThis as requested and you did not attach the runkeys.txt log yet. However, I don't really need new ones. You are not showing any signs of malware. Let's check a few other things!

Download HOSTER and then follow the below steps.
    • Unzip Hoster to a convenient folder such as C:\Hoster
    • Run Hoster.exe, click Restore Original Hosts and then click OK.
    • Click the X to exit the program
Now click Start > Run and type in cmd
    • Click OK.
    • This will open a command prompt.
    • Type or copy and paste the following line in the command window:
      ipconfig /flushdns
    • Hit Enter
    • Exit the command window

Do you have a cable or DSL modem? If so, reset or power cycle the modem.
Do you have a router? If so, reset or power cycle the router.

    Any change to your problems?
