I am not very familiar with win95.

Where are you seeing the 16mb for RAM. Is it during POST before Win95 starts loading? When was the last time you saw 48mb? Is this a sudden problem or did you pull this comp out of a closet and are just starting it back up?

Thanks for the reply I just pulled out of the closet getting ready to do what ever I can to it and when I started it up under crontrol panel and system it said 48 mb of ram then after using it all day just playing around and put on avast and ccleaner I shut it down went to bed for awhile come back down and was going to screw with it some more it took forever to start and when I went to system it said 16 mb of ram
but now it is ok again not quite sure what happened there but it is doing better and I did scan disk too but now I have a ws2_32.dll file error.
    any know how about this?

Well, since it has been moved around, the first thing I would do is open the case and make sure the RAM is seated properly. If you are unfamiliar it should be simple to find a basic picture tutorial on the web to show you what RAM cards look like. You just want to push the cards into the slots very firmly and make sure the clips on either end are connected.

You could try the attached ws2_32.dll file. I just downloaded from the web. If you do try using it, if you currently have a version of the file on your computer make sure you rename that old file rather than overwrite it. That way you can put things back the way they were if there is a problem.
