lost 'All Programs'

For the past week I've been diddling with this PC to clear up some problems (Windows XP 32 bit Media Center Edition). A Gateway.

Some of the problems I've fixed - msconfig wouldn't work in the Run box; Help and Support wouldn't run. These are now working.

However, I've lost "All Programs" from my Start menu. I find that most remarkable and have yet to find the cure. Registry repair doesn't get it; scf /scannow doesn't find it; neither does Search or Run, or, as near as I can tell, anything else.

Anyone have ideas? I don't even know if this is a registry program or a files program or a link - or something else.

Well you get the major MAJOR Geek award! Thank you - it worked and I now have All Programs again. I've been trying to figure this one out for a week - and in the meantime cleaned up several other glitches. But you get the crown. Thanks very much.
