How this happened is beyond me but it did. I even did two restore point dates hoping to recover it and the 15 or so downloads in it but nada. Anyone know how I could have messed up and caused this? The reason for the uninstall was because the exe was flaky and after re downloading it which was flaky as well, I decided to install it anyway. It was from here BTW that I downloaded from so I'm sure it was safe. It's hard to describe it but it also wasn't acting right after I installed it. I obviously did something wrong in configuring it or uninstalling it for my Downloads file to vanish? I downloaded Outpost and it reestablished my Download folder but it was the only thing in it. Very strange. What really tics me off was that I hadn't even been drinking when this happened which makes it doubly bad. Also at the same time, my SRWare Iron browser quit working and I had to uninstall it, re-download and install it again. Go figure that one. Rough afternoon to say the least.

In XP, the download folder is under My Documents for your username.
If we use Blueone as your username, the full path would be
    C:\Documents and Settings\Blueone\My Documents\Downloads

In my computer it is empty because I never have my browser download anything into the directory. All my downloads either go into a specific directory I've set up or on the desktop.

Did you set up a particular location in your browser? If so, I'm not sure what would happen when you uninstalled the browser. I've never seen nor used the Iron browser.

It beats me. I do remember uninstalling a link scanner as well, probably something I overlooked when doing one or the other.
