Lost files + software

I have a Medion / Akoya (Aldi) laptop 12-18m old. Recently used to watch a DVD downloaded from the internet. When laptop was restarted the DVD was still in the drive. After it was removed it would only start in a safe mode with wrong screen size + brightness. Subsequently lost internet access.

I think I did a restore default + all restored except my files and software added since laptop was purchased.

Any suggestions mastergeeks. Many thanks.

 

The only suggestion that can be made is that from now on you back up your files regularly and your system from time to time. Using recovery disks, as you have done, puts a computer back in the state it was in when you bought it. Your files are gone and cannot be recovered.
