lost in driver quicksand going down 3rd time toss me a stick

got new toshiba satelite laptop p205s6237 dumped vista instal xp pro realized had no drivers need internet drivers ar5211.sys & net5211.inf to connect to net to download rest of drivers. looked alllllll over toshiba site. new to all this, yes learning experience, blah blah blah ready to slit my wrists an call it a day cant find these drivers that everyone talks about to fix. suggestion: when y'all figure out what you need help the rest of us and tell us where you got your results. To much a beginner to take another breath. thx's for any advice.

Your ethernet and some other drivers are probably part of the chipset. The video driver is Intel GMA950, and is generally associated with the 945 chipsets. Drivers here: http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/CS-020683.htm

It seems as though lots of people are dumping Vista in favor of XP, and they all run into the driver issues after installing XP.... they don't think to look for driver availability until after the fact.... regarding the audio driver, you may require the Microsoft UAA HD audio driver in addition to the driver above.... here's the link: http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SO...AA-Bus-Driver-for-High-Definition-Audio.shtml
