lost my administrator privlilges by mistake !! How can I get them back?

Yesterday I was trying to get two computers to "talk" to each other and put myself "user" into a workgroup desination and now my computer will not recognize me as an administrator ....it will log me on as user but not allow me to log on as administrator and I cannot do a lot of functions I need to do.What do I need to do? can I turn off the autoadmin (o) in the login hot key? And there were major changes to my registry and a lot of things are not working properly but the machine won't allow me to run any registery repair programs???

 

Usually most programs will make sure there is at least 1 administrator, is there someone else listed as admisistrator on your system? If so get them to go into user accounts and click on your name and make you administrator. If not try to do that yourself. See if it will let you. If you have that key that will turn off the administrator account, more than likely it will turn it on. Try right clicking to see if you have any options. You may be able to take car of the problem there. If none of those work, go on live chat with your ISP like AOL, MSN and let them help you, or the people who made your computer. Most have live chat and they are very helpful.

Are you logging in as the "Administrator" account, and not your own user account?

If you want to reset the admin password, you can use a registery editing boot disc like http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ to set it to blank.

If you're running the Welcome screen, boot up in safe mode to access the default Administrator account if you're not using the standard login box.

 

all I know is that when I log on it asks for ctrl, atl, delete the computer user name pops up I enter no password and it logs on...if I change to administrator and i put in the user name password it says cannot log on if I leave the field blank as before it says cannot log on...so I can log on as only as user

 

Maybe i did not do this when i logged back on my registry seems to be badly corrupted could a change like that affect the registry? But I cannot run any reg cleaners as they all say keys are missing??? If I try and download another the administration thing prevents me from doing so??/
