lost my pictures folder and all it contents

lost my pictures folder and all it contents tried a system restore pc just will not restore to a earlier time ? tried looking for it in safe mode not there did a search file and folders not there now what can i do i think my 18mth old grandson has done something with it as he had the keyboard earlier when i went to the front door but i cant be sure please help have just put some new pics in there

 

Most likely not the child, would have had to delete and empty the trash can, not likely. Try doing a search for the file extension like this ***.jpg

 

hi thanks done that but nothing i was looking for im afraid right now i am running pc inspector smart recovery looking in my d drive for jpegs so far found 183 and putting them in a file i named lost but all the files are named convar 1jpeg and so one but i cant view them as it tells me that there is not a suitable graphic importer could be found ?

 

not sure but try a "save as" give it another name and use extension .jpg or jpeg and see if you can view

Sorry, never had to recover anything but most I see use undelete. Also look at dlb's suggestions here he recovers files all the time.
