Lost Word Doc

Hi, one of my friends lost a word doc and I am wondering if anyone can help. It is a final for a class. She was working on her laptop and was working off of and saving doc on her usb stick/memory stick. Anyway, the laptop crashed, she exited it and put the stick into her pc (windows xp) and continued working. It did go from the one to the other without a problem. After several saves and an hour later, she hit save again then print, and the pc froze, the doc disappeared and she cannot find it. The closest thing we can find it something on the memory stick with the correct name, but the file extension is .tmp. It will not allow us to open it. Can anyone help???? Thanks ahead of time.

That is very helpful! She did recover it. I saved that link for future use, hopefully will never need but you never can tell. :confused
