Lots of infections, computer sometimes won't load Windows

    Hey guys,

2 days ago I started getting popups saying something along the lines of "Panic! Your computer is infected!!" I attempted to close them and more came up, then Firefox started being redirected and IE windows popped open. Computer froze and attempted to reboot.
It froze if I tried to go into any form of Safe Mode. Could boot into XP Pro SP2 but it wouldn't allow me to click on anything or use keyboard shortcuts.

I used Avira Rescue Disk and it found many issues. The ones that stood out to me included a Rootkit and what it labeled as Dangerous BDS/Harebot. It didn't seem to actually fix anything..

Installed Windows Vista on the same HD as the old XP Pro install and could click again! I started proceeding through your "Read and Run Me First" FAQ. Computer crashed several times along the way and still stalls when trying to go into any form of Safe Mode. About 50% of the time it'll load Vista normally, the other half of the time the screen goes dim right before the Windows logo should appear and then just hangs.

Since running everything I haven't had any pop-ups or other oddities, just the lack of Safe Mode and hanging on start-up.

When I ran SUPERAntiSpyware I got this error message, but it seemed to complete it's scan:
    Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware\SUPERAntiSpyware.exe
    R6025
    -pure virtual function call

When I ran RootRepeal I got this error message, and it wouldn't open the program at all:
Attempt to write to address: 0x00e9f000

I hope this isn't information overkill :( I figure it's better to give too much than too little.

    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Which operating system are you trying to fix? You posted logs from running Vista which is not really going to help us fix the Windows XP partition if that is what you want to do. You need to boot the XP partition and run scans on it to fully detect the problems there. Booting Vista, may only find a few miscellaneous items but it will not find everything related to the XP partition.

On which version of Windows did these occur? I assume you mean on Vista?

There is nothing for us to do on your Vista partition? It is all clean. And based on your logs, it looks like Vista is your only boot choice now.
