Lowercase i's in scene releases? leet speek?

why is it, that most of the time when i see someone write in all caps,
they dont capitalize the i? LiKE iF THEY WERE WRiTiNG A SENTENCE, ALL
THE i'S WOULD BE LOWERCASE. Is there a real reason for this?

anyways im clueless on the issue and was wondering if someone could
shed some light

That's simple.

The probably typed it with the Caps Lock button down without knowing, and they don't touch type. So they don't see they are typing in caps until they finish, and then can't be bothered to erase it and type it in lower case. The i isn't capitalized because, thinking they were already typing in lower case, they press the shift key to capitalize the i. However, with the caps lock on this has the opposite outcome, hence the i's appear in lower case instead. Well...that works for the word "i" as in "I am", but not for the letter i appearing mid-word.

and the caps lock thing is deff not it cause its consistent in the middle of words too

Because the I's look like 1's if you capitalise them

 

What's worse are people who "fink itz kool 2 type lik this".

(They don't capitalise the i because it looks like an l )
