lpcywinp - aaaargh!

hi all

ok newbie here - desperate to get rid of this damn problem! please help!!rolleyes

from what i can gather its called lpcywinp.exe - as you're probably aware it causes warning bubbles about viruses etc every 5 mins, it causes pcsecuritylab and diocleaner plus other popups and generally drives me nuts!

can't remove the .exe itself and it disables task manager so can't stop it there.

from what i can gather, firstly i need to download hijackthis and post a log up?

ANY help on this very gratefully recieved!!!

combofix not working?

ok - just started to work through getting rid of some evil malware as per the read and run first list.

downloaded combofix, but it doesn't appear to be working? just comes up with a blue screen in a window with a flashing cursor and nothing else seems to happen. i've read the bit about it stalling with mouse clicks but tried a few times now being careful not to d othat and still no joy.....

ok - heres where i'm at right now.

combofix didn't seem to work at all so i skipped that and went straight to spybot, which found and got rid of about 65 problems, but not the main one i was still having trouble with.

next i installed AVG and ran a scan with that - it found loads more stuff, which i quarantined (i've still gotta delete everything from the quarantined folder?). i only had time for a very quick restart/check this morning but on the face of it, it seems to have sorted it (fingers crossed!). i'm at work now but will check further later on tonight once i'm back on my home computer.
