LSO cookies

    With the addition of the "Better Privacy" selection under on the 'Tools' menu on the latest Firefox, there is an option that allows you to remove LSO cookies either upon approval by the user or automatically. I am not sure what effect this would have on my browsing. I have read up on LSO cookies since then, but did not find a clear-cut answer to whether it's a good thing to delete them or not .
    ALSO:
    I have always used adblaocker plus with my Firefox, and have noticed the increasing presence of Flashplayer advertisements, which adblocker does not remove . I would like to also block these flashplayer ads without disabling/removing flashplayer altogether . Any advice is welcome .

    You will have to set the ‘global storage settings’ to ‘none’ to keep LSOs off your computer permanently.

    My question is whether it is actually a good thing to keep the LSO's off my computer. I havent even been aware of LSO's until recently, so I'm wondering what effect it would have on my browsing by deleting these besides perhaps resetting some flash player settings such as audio volume on youtube .
    I guess to boil this question down to it's most basic essence would be - LSO's : Good or Bad ?

    While researching LSO's, i found this comment left by a user following an article about LSO's :
    These cookies are NOT HARMLESS! They contain highly specific, personal
    info about your computer and your viewing habits. Some of them even include
    your computer’s name and directory paths. This is way too invasive and
    should not be allowed–especially when done secretly behind our backs like
    this, by Adobe/Macromedia.

    Im just looking for further insight on if i should be deleting these things.

    This is actually the first time I have run across this. And the internet seems to be rather divided about the topic. So all I can suggest is that you keep it set to stay off your computer until there is more definitive info.

    That is pretty much the same conclusion i came to. I was wondering why i wasn't getting much response on this thread, seems like something of this nature would generate more conversation . I have set my "Better Privacy" Preferences to automatically delete LSO's upon application exit, I also disabled DOMstorage and ping tracking .
    I will keep the settings like this until/unless i find a reason to change them .
