M8s Multimedia Tv Box Not Powering Up At Times

I have this M8S multimedia tv box. I guess it's based on Android, in any case it's used to access Youtube, play video files, surf the web and much more. Problem is it's brand new and right out of the box I've had issues with it. First off the charger was visually cheaply made. I could rarely power the box up and sometimes it would freeze on screen until it was unplugged. I soon began to notice it would only work intermittently. When it would not power on or freeze I'd have to unplug the power adapter.

Quickly I noticed that plugging the adapter back into the unit would cause the power led on it to blink for a second and then dim out. Unplugging it caused it to do the same thing. It would then occasionally work and actually power on the unit (solid led all the time and working upon plugging the adapter). The adapter then gave out and completely stopped working. So I found another at home that was of higher quality and the same rating. It made the box work for about two weeks and now the same issue is occurring. Powering the unit sometimes doesn't work. You'll have to unplug and reinsert the adapter which will cause the one second blinking led issue. Which is just another few random tries away to get it to actually work. Then it may work for a day or so. But it's also now begun powering off on it's own or freezing.

Is there anyway to know what could be the issue and how to fix it? I have good soldering and motherboard experience. If it's something you can give me an insight on it'll repair it myself with tools at hand. This is somewhat of a stock image from the net. It may not be 100% accurate since there are different motherboard revisions. But it's pretty spot on 90% wise I'd say. For more images of what the insides would look like see here. That'll give you an insight into what kind of parts are inside of it. I was actually thinking of baking the motherboard in the oven for a few minutes. Don't know if that would help but it's usually a last resort.

    Thanks for any suggestions,

    Return it.
If you do any repairs and something else goes wrong, your warrantee will be void.

Actually it was a gift and was left in the box for about six months prior to opening it up for the first time.
The warranty is void now... It has to be repaired, I'm wondering if it's a fuse, capacitor, or something. I don't
know much about power issues on a motherboard to know exactly what it could be. The ac jack looks fine
doesn't look as if there's any solder lifting off the pcb or anything weird like that.

Ok. All I can suggest is have a good look at all the connections with regard to the power connector. Carefully remove screws H1 & H2. It wont be a fuse. And if it's a capacitor or other component, look for discolouration (usually black).

I believe the H1 and H2 screws are just for the power led that is at the front of the unit...
I can check still but I'm not sure as to how that would help. It's pretty far from the real
    ac adapter input section.

I can't tell much by looking at the image. Just have a good look at everything where the power connector is.
