WOOOOHOOOOO Ma`s coming home from rehab today. She`s recovering from a NASTY stroke..and I think, as I`m sure my sis Abby does...she`ll recover better at home...with her family and friends and familiar surroundings.

To say I'm relieved she's coming home would be an understatement. Like everyone else I had hoped she could come home without the need for a wheelchair and hospital bed but that's just not in the cards. I wish she could communicate better...that, more than anything has to be so damned frustrating for her..you and I both know that if mom has something to say she's gonna say it and she never pulled any punches about stating her feelings...now she can't..she tries but it's a guessing game trying to figure out what she's trying to say...it's no wonder she gets pissed:eek:

I need to finish up with things here and get to bed early tonight....need to be up at 2:30am if I'm going to make it to the airport in time tomorrow.

    See y'all soon!:)

yeah thats great news, as I have previously said to Abby, being with family and not in a hospital will do her the world of good and no doubt may even help with her communication in getting alot better.

Great news that your Mom is coming home.

I just heard from a friend back in England, her partner just had a stroke. It's such a devastating and shocking turn of events. Feel for you guys and glad your Mom is improving :)

That's great news Sasquatch. Your right, coming home and seeing everyone will do her better than any medicine. Just be patient with her, those strokes are awful and take time to get over.

I know what Abby is talking about when she mentioned your mom not being able to communicate better and how frustating it is for her. My mom is very hard of hearing, it's hard for her to follow conversations and you have to repeat things 2 or 3 times. She is constantly apologizing for it, having to ask you to repeat things. She says it is awful not to be able to participate in a conversation, people around you talking and you can't hear what they are saying. I feel sorry for her.

Hopefully your mom will be able to talk better soon. I'm glad she's coming home. :)

Have a safe and fruitful trip Abby. Will be praying for you all.

Do they have her in any kind of speech and physical therapy? Those can help a lot.

As many have said, coming home will be a wonderful inspiration in helping her heal.
It will take time, but is wonderful for her to be able to come home where family and friends will be there to welcome and help her.

I am thinking of and praying for all of you and your families.
