Macbook Pro Drivers

    If there is anybody familiar with the Apple system I would be so grateful if you can help me. My husband hasa Macbook Pro and he needs help updating the drivers for a new Negative scanner but I can't help him as I am only au fait with a PC.

    On the list of driver updaters can we use them on the Macbook or is there one especially made for Apple?

    The Apple system is touted as being very intuitive and easy to use but I must be very stupid because I find it completely dense .
    Any help greatly appreciated.

    I haven't used any Apple hardware since 1989.
    First it helps if you mention what version of iOS is running.
    Next the "negative scanner" should say Apple supported. You buy printers based on PC or Apple; drivers are not interchangeable.
    Also please post the brand and model of scanner.
