macromedia shockwave player

I heard that downloading the macromedia shockwave player could be harmfull to my computer. But I see I can download it from MAJORGEEKS so I figured how could it be harmfull. I need to know whether its going to be alright to download it cause I dont have one. So could someone let me know what I should do? or give me some advice please and thanks

 

Honestly both flash and shockwave are harmless. Really flash is what is used now but it is still not bad to have shockwave incase you come across something old online ( which is rare but it happens!) Just have both on your machine. Flash and shockwave are just media plugins for viewing multimedia content on the internet. Go ahead and get both. You can either download it here or go to www.macromedia.com and that is the official site of flash/shockwave. Once you install its kinda one of those things you can forget about unless you need to update it. In that case just go back and download it again from the site i told you above.
