Magical Jelly Bean

Downloaded the program and tried to change my key to a valid key and it won't work....nothing happens . Key is valid....anyone know why it wont change and hwo i can change it? Program says an error has occured, also the key i have is from my professor at school because microsoft gives them free to college students....i did a fresh install with two of hte keys on other computers and want to change mine with the third one however it does not work.
