Main.htm is needed?

I have WinXP, service pack 2

For the past week or so when I log on my computer I get the message "main.htm on (unknown) is needed". I press an okay button, nothing happens, then I press a cancel button and get the message, "cab extraction error RunSetUpCommand failed, err0x800704c7-operation canceled by user".

What does this mean and how do I fix it? I have run my Ad-Aware, Spybot, X-Cleaner and everything comes back clean. Please advise...

 

Sounds Odd! I would post this in the Software Forum as well, but first lets start with a general cleanup and go from there.

Now, please follow ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal


After doing ALL of the above if you still have a problem:


- Download HijackThis 1.99.1

- Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

- Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

- Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

- Run HijackThis and save your log file.

- Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

Well, bjg, I did what I was supposed to do and you know what? When I restarted, no nasty start up message about main.htm! The cleaners showed nothing but a cookie so I guess CCleaner (?) got rid of whatever was causing my problem. Everything is fine now and I'm all updated...
