Anyone else have incorrect local time in MG Forums, aprticularly Aussie members.

    My time is set to
Actual time in Brisbane was 06:58 at the time, and Brisbane (Queensland) does not have daylight saving time so GMT +10 should be GMT+10, not GMT+11. :confused :confused

The hour is right, but it's two minutes off for me. I've got it set to GMT -5, and Daylight Saving doesn't start until tonight at 2am. Of course, after that it'll be wrong, since the US changed when we do Daylight Saving. :rolleyes

Nope...my time is right Bazza. Our Daylight savings is coming up. We set clocks forward tonight. Maybe that's it?? Would make sense since you all are a day ahead of us, so technically, you are tomorrow and already in daylight savings.

Now that Daylight Saving time is in effect, the clock is an hour off. Well...an hour and two minutes, that is. Seems even though this is the second year the US has done it before everyone else no one has included a software update to handle it, so once again I'll be changing my settings everywhere to compensate.

Yeah, mine's off now too. I never look at the clock though.

My time is fine with no profile changes. It is usually phpBB boards that have to be changed, I've never had a problem here in all the years I've been here.

Wondering if it eventually adjusts or if, because it's behind an hour now, I will have to change it in my profile.

    Anyone know?

I just thought of the fact that it affects the time on my posts too.rolleyes

EDITED to add: REally really strange. My time zone has changed by itself. I'm fine now.

Must have just been USA/MG swopping to USA daylight saving time. All is now OK with my GMT+10 time zone (no daylight saving). I did notice this a few days earlier but it wasn't one hour out (maybe 20 minutes from memory).

    Thanks for the replies.

My time zone adjusted itself, so now I'm set to GMT -4 instead of GMT -5. Which means the clock here is now an hour fast. rolleyes

    I hate this.

so change it in your user profile under edit options.

Right...I know that, and I did. The point, however, was that all on its own, with no changes made on my part, the time adjusted itself to a different time zone. Seems odd.

Also depends on how often you sync to the net. Right click your time in the taskbar and see when it was updated. Here's mine in XP with default settings, hope it helps:

I leave my system on 24/7 for folding.

That would be irrelevant...I'm talking about the time settings on this site, not the actual time setting on my actual computer, as is the original subject of this thread. ;) :D

LOL The funny thing is I just had this exact same discussion with someone on another site...he insisted the time zone changed because I don't have Vista. :D

LOL, I wouldn't ask that person for any help in Vista or ask him the time.:D
