major help needed!!!

Hey guys,

I have a major problem I think.... comp crashes randomly to blue screen mostly displaying this msg...

IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Have recently replaced the vid card,as I thought that may be the problem.... any advice much appreciated.....:cry

 

Microsoft have an article on this type of crash. It could also be incompatable driver issue (video card?)

I would have a look at any Microsoft downloads recently, if you had some automatically downloaded, just before the problem.

 

Try a clean install of vid card drivers. Depending on card brand, I would use 97.92's on nVidia based cards as have experienced problems with the 150's. Make sure you get the driver for the correct OS and card as nVidia has special ones for the 8800 series etc. Then see if it shows up again.

 

There are some problems associated with Nvidia drivers-
If you can get into safe mode, if you recently updated, and uninstall the one you have.
Shut down and restart, and Windows will give it a basic driver.
It may be wise to check the driver you had, and then go to Nvidia, and check for an earlier version, - ASus boards appear to need the latest.

 

Does the old vid card still work? Try putting it back and doing a system restore. If this works get your money back and put it towards a different, more reliable card.
