    Hello...

I am very sorry to have to sign up to the forum and ask a question, but I am at my wits end. I know how annoying it is when new members sign up to ask one question, and never show their face again, but I have lost all patience, and am hoping you're a friendly enough bunch to help!

The only decent and understandable information I have seen so far has been on this forum, so well done you lot! :)

Right, my Toshiba laptop is only about six months old. It runs like a dream, no issues at all until now. The other day I was just having a look for the first time at C and D drives, just to see what's on them, as I know for a fact that I hadn't stored anything on D drive!

It turned out that I was down to 48GB left out of 116GB. Bearing in mind I have never saved anything onto the drive, I thought it was a little strange. So I posted a thread up on the forum I use (all be it a car forum!) just to get a bit of advice, and the only thing the guys on there came up with was to delete Norton's 360. I was reluctant, because like a mug, I paid for it when I bought the laptop!

I ignored the matter for a few more days, and today I had another look at the D Drive, and it's full to it's limit! I hadn't even touched it, and it's maxed right out! :( It is full of those invisible files that I've read so much about, but learned nothing worthwhile. I don't see the point in them, and they annoy me a lot!

So I went on Google, and trawled through countless pages of 'My Hard Drive Is Full But Shouldn't Be' topics, and the only decent one was found on this forum! I followed the steps that you guys gave. Download the Norton's Removal Tool and use twice for luck! Download and run CCleaner, which picked up one or two things, but nothing worth noting! Install AVG Free, which seems nice and simple! And I turned the Windows Firewall back on as I couldn't get the recommended COMODO Firewall to work.

Right, so I went back onto D Drive, hoping that whatever was taking up the room would be gone, but no such luck! If anyone could let me know how to find out what is taking up all my precious space, I would be eternally grateful - and also more than willing to help anyone if they've got an issue with their Ford! ;)

    Thankyou in advance!

    Matt

It's ok, I ran the MATT-TOSH programme that I found on D Drive, and it let me manage the backup files... Whoever knew they would be invisible?! Haha, well I am glad it is sorted, and thanks to anyone who was about to help!

Mods, please feel free to delete as appropriate! :)

    Matt
