Major problem with windows

    I have a windows xp home edition on a computer no disk for windows however the computer will boot to the windows boot screen then flashs blue and reloads any idea how to fix it

    Hi

    Flashes blue? is this a BSOD with a STOP error? if so what is the stop error code?

    Can you boot into Safe Mode ok? ( hit F8 at boot and choose Safe Mode with Networking )

    I had the same problem with a computer earlier this week.
    I solved it by moving the disk to another computer and having it scanned for disk/file errors. The scans discovered that a part of the file index was broken, and had it repaired.

    no i can not boot in safe mode and i hae no way to move it to another computer.
