Major Problem!

Hi guys

I have an old wedding tape, it's a VHS tape. I want to put the tape on a dvd so I feel like VHS to VOB. but how do I do this? I googled some and only found software to actually convert it while it's on your pc already, the problem is how do I get it on my PC. Do I have to buy a cable just to connect my computer with the DVD player ( I have an dvd player which also plays VHS tapes).

Any help would be greatly appreciated

 

You have two options,buy a recordabe DVD player and transfer it through the AV or buy a converter cable or card,scan to the bottom of this page

Personally I'd go with a recordabe DVD player as you can use for other things and when you have coverted it to DVD you can save the DVD on your computer anyway

 

How much does a converter cable cost?
and Do I have to put the converter cable between my dvd player(also with VHS play option) and computer?

If you decide to go with the cable 'or card' you simply plug it into your USB port,press play on your vcr and set the software that comes with the cable to record,so to answer your question yes,the thing is some recordable dvd players are only a few bucks more than the converter cable and you can use it for recording TV,To save confusion I mean the kind of DVD recorder that you put under your TV not one that goes inside a computer
