Some settings on my computer are retarded and I can't change them. When right-clicking on the Desktop to access Properties I can only see the Appearance, Themes and Settings tabs. All the rest are gone. I believe this is caused by a virus. This also didn't allow me to access the Task Manager (it said the Administrator had disabled it, but I'm the admin!). I got rid of said virus (known as Antivirus XP 2008) but the settings remain and I can't change them, though at least now I can use the Task Manager. I made a new admin account and deleted the old one but the settings transferred over. I'm running XP Home, so I don't have Gpedit. I got a French version of it however (only one I could find) and changing the settings in there still didnt work. In fact they didnt even show up as being changed in the first place. But that makes sense since Gpedit was meant to run based on settings from XP Pro. Anyway, I need someone to help me fix this problem.

Also, there are a reduced number of settings on the Volume Control. I notice Microphone is among the missing ones. The only visible ones are Speaker, Wave, SW Synth, and CD Player. I would assume that there are even more various settings that have been screwed with all over my computer and unfortunately I never created a restore point at all. Again, any help would be appreciated.
