MAJOR SLOW-DOWN With My PC

I am not certain why my PC's performance has slowed alot. Additionally, my CD burner light has begun blinking. I have also noticed other strange characteristics that my PC had not displayed before such as when I reboot Norton Antivirus defaults to being disabled. I must right click the icon in my system tray and "enable" my antivirus. I have not made any changes to my system configuration that I am aware of and I have not downloaded anything other than some added feature from the firefox website. However, this behavior predates my downloads at firefox's website. I have noticed that the slowing is getting progressively worse.

Can anyone give me advice on how to fix this?

I frequenly run CCleaner, Adaware SE, Norton systemworks, have Microsofts Antispyware installed too. I am at a loss.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
