    Hi all!

New member here! I hope to learn alot, and possibly be able to help somebody even more challenged than myself. :p

Here's my problem in a nutshell: For the past few months, about 70 percent of videos I view via Windows Media Player are showing up in wacked out colors- almost infrared, like heat vision, or how television might depict a cats vision. It's hard to explain- alot of green and pink, very little detail, and things almost appear as a 'negative' like a roll of film. I can't think of any changes made to my PC that would have caused this, and before a few months ago i've NEVER seen it before. I should note that I see it most often through streaming video.

    My specs are:

Windows XP Home (still with SP1)
    ATI Radeon 9700
Windows Media Player 9 (version 9.00.00.3075)

Hopefully somebody here has seen this before and can point me in the right direction. I should also note that this began BEFORE I updated WMP to version 9; obviously updating to 9 didn't fix this issue.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer me!

I've noticed the same thing when playing music. When I swith to full screen, the visualizations do exactly what you describe. I'm not sure what causes it, but I found that if I restart the visualization it works normally. Try just restarting the media your watching and see if that works.

Shamless Bump number 1- anybody else see this problem?

It's not quite the same was what you see when you hear music. I can see people and whatever is within the video- it's just all discolored. It is NOT random color patters and abstract imagry as in 'battery randomization' for instance.

I realize this, what I mean is when I run a visualization in full screen it doesn't appear normally. It looks like some kind of weird infrared display. If I restart the visualization it then appears the way it is supposed to. For instance in bars and waves there is bars. Bars normally looks like green equalizer bars. If I switch to full screen they appear red and blue. If I exit fullscreen mode and then go back to full screen mode the bars appear normal.:)

Ahh, I see what you mean now- and that does sound very similar. You restart the visualization to make it work- what do you think I can do with a true mpeg/mpg/wmv?
