Majorgeeks.com Software Updates and News.

I downloaded the Majorgeeks.com Software Updates and News program. I think it's a very usefull program, but there are some issues.

1. Right-clicking the icon in the notification area, I clicked on 'Schedule Check For Software Updates'. A task was scheduled, but the file referenced in actions doesn't exit. Screenshots 1 & 2.
I deleted the task and tried again, and a dialogue box indicating an 'Automation error' popped up and no task was created. Screenshot 3.

2. The main screen shows 2 outdated drivers, but clicking on the Drivers tab shows 4. Screenshot 4.

3. Also, the main screen shows 8 outdated programs when there's only 6. The 2 recommended programs are added to the outdated programs. This means even when all the programs are up to date, it will still show 2 outdated programs. Screenshot 5.

Any advice will be appreciated.

 

I'm surprised because it's a nifty utility. Will check the Tweaking.com forum.

 

Thanks for getting a hold of me. I didnt make the software updater itself but I did make the main program. Sorry I dont watch the forums here as my hands stay full with the forums at tweaking.com lol

I found the bug in the creating a task schedule and got it fixed. I will do a little more testing and get v1.1.0 released to majorgeeks

I think I found what's causing issue #2. My USB Bluetooth transceiver was unplugged, and while the USB Printer was connected, it was unplugged from the electric socket outlet. Hence the difference in number of outdated drivers. Hopefully that will not be to difficult to fix.

I will download and run the updated version as soon as it's released. It's a great utility.

Had a small problem with my email. I have downloaded the file and will check the program within the next 2-3 hours.
