Help! I am hving trouble with two website forums. The most important one is this forum, my home computer will not let me access this forum. I am having trouble with another forum as well but this one is my concern. It tells me that the page cannot be displayed. All other parts of the sites are accessible for viewing except the forums. This started about 5 days ago. Any ideas?

Everything was working fine untill last week. If you have any ideas that I may try, please let me know. I have to access this from work, so if you want to email me them that would be great as well.

I tried the method of going in to manually program the website however, I don't know how to find the IP address to manually set it. This wa suggested in the first reply to this question. Does anyone know how to find IP addresses from websites?

Go to a command prompt and either use "Tracert" or "ping" followed by the the name of the website. The IP address will be shown as part of the results.

OK, I tried the ping and tracert, but when I did that the popup box (black screen) came up, it lasted about a half of second and disapeared. I typed it in the "run" box and that is what happened. Did I do it wrong?

At the run box type "cmd". This will look like you're in DOS (command prompt) mode, the black screen you saw. Then run Tracert or Ping. That way you'll see the results without the screen disappearing. What you initially did was running the programs, they finished and the window closed. By typing "cmd", the window will stay open so you can see the results of these two programs. Once you're finished with this particular window, type exit or click on the "X" for closing the window.
