    Hi,

I downloaded AVG Protection, Webtune up, Protection today to try the trial version and the reason why I did it because seem to freeze at times and especially when using google chrome. After the downloaded completed and computer restarted, I have not been able to open explorer, chrome, etc. The wheel just keeps spinning. I have also tried to uninstall them and it doesn't let me do it either. I am wondering how can I go about removing these software from the PC to get this computer to work again.

    Thanks!

I have downloaded the software into my memory stick and when I try to open the program it does nothing but wheel keep spinning. Wondering how I can get control on the control panel to uninstall the program or use this program to remove AVG. I am unable to log on in safe mode as I received this computer from my old company which no longer exist and they have the administrator log in details.

Appreciate in advance! I should have never downloaded the AVG...uhhh

Log into Windows Safe Mode. You don't need a different password, other than your normal user account password, to log into it. If your user account is not an 'administrator' account then that's a problem but you wouldn't have been able to install AVG to begin with if it isn't. You also don't say what the Operating System is. Do an internet search for 'How to get into Windows Safe Mode on Windows xxx' and you'll find a guide for YOUR specific OS.
Also whenever running anything like that tool you need to right-click it FIRST and choose 'Run As Administrator' - that applies to all OSs from Vista onwards.

Thanks! I was successful in getting to the safe mode and use the AVG remover to remove PC tune up and protection. I am unable to remove the AVG web tune up and have tried few times to remove and after each restart it pops back up on the programs. Also, when I reboot my computer the screen is black and nothing happens and thinking AVG is blocking it. Any suggestions?

Not going to download AVG again as it a crap. Do you recommend a good protection software in the future along with pc tune up?

Thanks! I used one of the Revo Uninstaler software and did remove AVG web tune up. I thought that this would fix the problem but when I go to start the computer I get blank black screen ....windows properly doesn't start up or do not see the desktop or any icon. Any thoughts?

BTW- it is windows 7 enterprise!

Firstly the AVG removal tool has to be run at least two times with a system RESTART in between.
I've no idea why you want Pc Tune Up - it s just one of a number of 'optimiser' programs that mostly cause more trouble than they fix.
You still didn't say what your Operating System is despite being asked.
I don't like AVG as it became bloated over the years but IT IS NOT CRAP.
I suspect the issues are on your system and not AVG itself.
There are many good free AV programs listed on MajorGeeks, especially under the 'Top Freeware Picks' section.

I have run AVG removal tool few times in between RESTART and no AVG software is detected. I do think the problem is now with the system and interested to know if any specific AV program is recommended. I do have Symantac on the laptop but it has not been updated for some time and I have also run Malwarebytes and Spybot as well CCleaner.....nothing is found! At this point, not sure if PC tune up made any changes to the boot up directory or files that is preventing proper start-up. Thanks!

You should run some diagnostic tests on that specific system.
    One is sfc /scannow
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-sg...l-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files
    The other is check disk:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee872425.aspx
Comodo IS and Avira free versions are both excellent.
Check to see what is set to start automatically on boot - you can see that in CCleaner > Tools > Start Ups and at the bottom right you can save that list to a text file and post it here.

Norton/Symantec is rubbish. Get rid of it with its own official removal tool.

    Hi,

I have used sfc/ scannow and after completion it states that it did not find any integrity violations. I am not sure if I still need to use the other free versions you provided. I have also attached the text file from CCleaner as requested and would love your insights on potential next steps. I am not sure at this point if there is some malware causing the issues or viruses. Based on scan it appears that the there are no corrupted files. Not sure why the computer starts and still blank screen and no desktop or startup menu!

I am currently in safe mode and get this pop up window and not sure the significance-

Windows cannot access \\sars26fs2\users\mehts1\private\desktop - question issue with network issues or significance of sar26fs2?

You don't need to be in safe mode now, unless there is another reason.

Start ups - you have dozens. Probably far too many. For most programs they do NOT need to start at boot. You can launch them manually as and when needed.
Search each exact process name, eg DigitalCouponPrinter.exe in an internet search and see if it needs to start on websites like process library or others that come up such as 'should i remove it' dot com

I am still not able to see the desktop as it is still blank black screen....I have attached the report and would appreciate the thoughts and if any additional information is needed....would love to get the laptop working good again

For some reason the hitman pro would run but not able to save log as it would come up with error and closing the program. I have provided the screen shots of the report....

These 5 files in post #15 above are for the specialists to analyse in the Specialist Malware Forum so please start a new thread there and attach these same 5 scan logs there.
Leave the 'startup' issues until after the Specialists have dealt with those other scans.
