    I am checking my daughter's laptop (which was out of use) for various malware etc. It is Win 10, 64, icore 3.

    After doing the R and R ME procedure, I have noticed a number of potential threats. I am attaching logs for your advice as per the procedure.

    Please note:

    1 I could not install MGtools.exe on C drive. So I ran from desktop. No log file for MGtools was created on desktop. The file I have attached is from MGtools folder on C drive.

    2. The version of Malwarebytes I installed from Mjorgeeks is slightly different from the instructions mentioned on Rand R Me. Instead of Threat removal it gives option of Quarantine, which I did.

    I await your advice. Thanks.

    Please have ADWCleaner remove everything it found. Do the same with Hitman and the same with RogueKiller.

    Reboot and rescan with ADW, Hitman and RogueKiller and attach the new logs.

    In Hitman, remove this item:

    Potential Unwanted Programs _________________________________________________

    keyword.URL
    C:\Users\Noor\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\zkgv5gs0.default\prefs.js

    And in RogueKiller, remove this:

    ¤¤¤ Web browsers : 1 ¤¤¤
    [PUM.SearchEngine][Firefox:Config] zkgv5gs0.default : user_pref("browser.search.selectedEngine", "default-search.net"); -> Found

    Reboot and tell me what issues you may still have.

    I have removed
    However the file
    ¤¤¤ Web browsers : 1 ¤¤¤
    [PUM.SearchEngine][Firefox:Config] zkgv5gs0.default : user_pref("browser.search.selectedEngine", "default-search.net"); -> Found

    was not found by Rogue Killer, so I did not remove anything. I am attaching the scan logs for your reference:

    Thanks Tim.

    Just wanted to add I log into majorgeeks and select the Remember Me button so I do not have sign in again. However when I restart MG Remember Me box is unchecked.

    Is this significant?

    No, it's not significant. It only works if you leave the window open.

    You're logs are clean.

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Re-enable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8 or 10, it is time to make sure you have re-enabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now go to the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

    Thanks Tim,
    I've run all the steps. There is a program called Denzi app store installed; I see this in the uninstall programs. I have no clue what this is? Should remove it? It might be something installed by my daughter.

    I'll let you know in this thread if I see any suspicious behavior over next few days, otherwise I think everything looks good.

    Thanks for your assistance.
