When I turn on computer and log-on a sequence of events occurs that ends with my computer freezing to everything except "ctrl + ALt + delete": (1) desktop background and desktop icons begin to appear (2) desktop background goes away and a white screen with message "your system is infected with spyware" appears (3) computer gives choice to restore active desktop but clicking restore does nothing (4) I'm able to move my mouse curson around but I can't open anything. I'm able to log-off with ctr-alt-delete.

I have another user account on my computer but this user does not have any admin powers so I can't download anything or remove any softwear. I'm using this computer now through this other user account.

That message "your system is infected with spyware" only appeared the first few times I tried to logon. Now it just removes my desktop background and gives button in middle of screen to restore active desktop.

Here is my computer info: Processor Architecture: Intel
Processor Type: x586 - Pentium with MMX Support
Operating System: WINDOWS NT 5.1 Service Pack: 2600
    Memory: 511 MB

I have another computer and I am wondering can I transfer files from my not working computer, under the not working user, to a new computer? Any advice on how to remove this malware? FYI: I currently don't have any malware removal softwear and am unable to download any.

    Thanks,

    John
