Malware causing sound to stop among other things

I've run through the steps 0-7 from the Malware Removal Guide.

The malware causes the sound drivers to be lost after closing a program using them (ie I start up the computer and start listening to music, I close the program with music, then no sound of that type works until I restart the computer again). I am also having problems with windows skins/themes and there is a lot of random lagging.

I was not able to perform step 6A in safe mode. My computer could not use the internet on either safe mode or normal mode until I had turned off my router and computer for a few minutes.

Also I renamed my Hijackthis.exe to HJT1991.exe which is in accord with how the hijackthis.de forum likes it.

    Any help is appreciated!

I believe this is all the files requested. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to try fix my computer.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

This is not the hijackthis.de forum. In the future please follow our instructions. You really should not be trying to work your problems in multiple forums and I'm sure they probably do not want to see logs from GetRunKey and ShowNew since they are probably not tools that they normally use.

That said the problems you are having are not due to malware. You need to look elsewhere. Possibly uninstall your hardware/delete drivers and reboot. And then reinstall. I suggest you continue working this in the Hardware Forum since it is not a malware problem. Your logs are clean and issues like this are almost never due to malware.

I do have to question what the below recent dated files are for:
    Code:
    "C:\WINDOWS\system32\"
    FLASHL~1.EXE Apr 19 2007 "FlashListsfight.Exe"
    FLASHL~2.EXE May 19 2007 "FlashListsFight Screen saver.exe"
    radlig~1.exe May 17 2007 52338 "RadLightOggUninstall.exe"
    sstunst2.exe Apr 19 2007 45056 "sstunst2.exe"

I will keep this in mind in the future.

I will try some stuff with my drivers and see if I can fix it before heading over. I am still concerned about the two spyware applications which were logged in the Activescan.txt. They both have websites that are unfamiliar to me. Would they cause any problems?

FlashListsfight.exe and FlashListsFight Screen saver.exe I believe would be from a screensaver program I tried out that ran a flash stickman fighting scene. I had uninstalled this in the past.

RadLightOggUninstall.exe is with RadLightOgg codec program which gives support for .OGM videos.

I don't know what sstunst2.exe is off hand.

Thanks for the help so far!

After redoing my audio drivers my sound problems have been fixed. :D

However after turning my filseclab software firewall back on (I just installed it and turned it off because I was having trouble with the internet) I have been flooded with SYSTEM trying to access random sites. I have used this firewall on my old computer for a long time and don't remember anything like this happening. Would anyone have an idea as to the cause of this? I have blocked over 50 sites and it doesn't seem to slowing down much.

These are not infections! They are just cookies and contrary to what many antispyware companies report, they are not problems. And thus they are not causing you any problems. Read step 11 here: How to Protect yourself from malware!

Then delete the files if you do not need them.

It could be related to the screen save stuff??

If you some how removed previous information that your firewall had stored on what are allowed/approved sites and applications then your firewall will start asking you for your approval all over again.
