Malware Detections

A week or so ago I discovered that my power options on windows 8.1 had disappeared. No "shutdown" or "restart," I had to manually turn off the computer each time. After some googling, it appeared that I had something bad lurking around. I ran a MalwareBytes scan, which found a couple of PUPs and PUMs, which it removed. That restored my power options, but just to be sure I came for the penicillin.

After following the READ AND RUN ME FIRST thread, there were not many things else detected, except in RogueKiller. I have not removed anything with RogueKiller, per the instructions, and have supplied all logs. With the limit of 5 logs, I did not post the defogger log, but I did not have any cd emulation in place.

    All help is appreciated.

    Thanks
    TJ

I am not seeing any malware. Do have Hitman remove the one item. Tell me if you are still having issues with shutting down.

Everything appeared back to normal after my initial run of MBAM, I just wanted to be 100% sure, and RogueKiller's detections concerned me--but otherwise everything is back as it should be. Should I be concerned about RogueKiller?

    Thanks again

No, those are typical findings in RogueKiller and are not a problem.

Since you are not having any malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
