My computer has been recently hijacked. I don't remeber the site I was on to accuire the virus, though when I sweeped my computer, I found a *file* that read, "Dialer Remote; and then some long number." So I quickly started to use CTRL-ALT-DELETE, they blocked that.

Then I tried Xing out of the program, blocked that as well.

I am just very concered about the dialer. I've read many forums saying, you should only be concerned about Auto Dialers if you have a modem. Then I see another thread that says you shouldn't be concerned about Auto Dialers if that's a dial-up modem.

I have Comcast. It came with a modem, though the modem doesn't plug into a phone jack converter anywhere, it plugs into the cable outlet in the wall. So should I be cooncerned about these nasy dialers?

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

I assume you have a cable modem not an analog modem. I think it would be a good idea for you to work thru the below.
