Hi, I just downloaded a video off of a file uploading site. I opened the file (with Windows Media Player) and it said that a licence was aquired for the video and it asked me if I wanted to back it up or something like that. I exited out and deleted the file immediately. Is it possible to get any malware when a license is aquired through windows media? And is the license deleted as soon as I delete the file? Thank you.

Most likely a DRM Licence, which can be required to play certain secured/scrambled videos.

Not heard of a virus coming from a licence, but their is always a first time, but so long as the video you are viewing is from a legal source then I would not suspect a virus. NO the licences are separate to the video file and will be stored for later use if you watch a similar video that needs the same licence.
