    Hello,

First off thanks for all the awesome help and support. I have learned so much using your "readme and run" thread.

Basically I got infected with like multiple viruses, the only one I know specifically of was the PC Privacy Cleaner virus. I used AVG to scan and remove some of the malware, but it kept returning upon each new scan.

The viruses got progressively worse, at its worst point I could not access anything under the start menu except the short cuts. Task manager was disabled, it became nearly impossible to navigate webpages without the browser closing down, and a "Virus Alert!" message popped up in my computers clock, among other symptoms.

Anyway, I went through your "readme and run" thread", almost everything is fixed now from what I can tell. My only lingering problem is my desktop is still a blank white. Under display properties everything looks fine, I can see the backgrounds are still there but when I click to apply one it still remains the blank white.

    Logs attached for your review.

    Thanks for any help.

    Actually you look pretty good.

As to the desktop ...right click / properties / customize / web ...make sure no boxes are checked and there is nothing checked.

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now tell me what other issues you are still having.

Actually I fixed the problem by simply noticing that the blank white background was actually some kind of window one of the viruses created. I was able to scroll down the edges of the window, and then a close "x" button in the top right of the window popped up with my cursor over it so i was able to close it there. The only other thing was that windows media player magically disappeared, but I am sure I can just download that again. This is my first major experience with viruses, so all these wierd computer symptoms have definately become a learning experience. Thanks again for the support.
