    I'm not sure what I've got, but when I log into eBay or my bank, I get a new window that tries to get all my personal information (CC# including ccv2 and pin#, etc.) Someone said to try here for help.

    I believe I've followed the Malware Removal Guide as best as I can.

    1. You will need your Windows XP boot CD. You have an MBR infection.

    Now boot to the Recovery Console and run the fixmbr to clear a Master Boot Record infection that you have.

    You can read the below to help you do this:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307654

    After running the fixmbr command and boot back to normal mode, continue with the below.

    Leawo Free AVI Converter <--- I suggest you do not use any software from Leawo. There are much better alternatives.

    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix exit HJT.

    2. Now we need to use ComboFix
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    • If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box. Ensure you scroll down to select ALL the lines:
    Code:

    KILLALL::

    File::
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\ALCXMNTR.EXE

    Folder::
    c:\documents and settings\HelpAssistant

    Registry::
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupfolder]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupfolder]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB}]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{761497BB-D6F0-462C-B6EB-D4DAF1D92D43}]

    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe

      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif

    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    3. Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this and also attach the log from Combofix.

    4. Let us know of any problems you may have encountered with the above instructions and also let me know how things are running now.

    My Computer is an older Compaq, it came with everything preloaded (no XP disc to boot from). Anything else I can do to solve this issue?

    OK, forget my previous steps for now, just do the below:

    Now we need to use Radix to try and fix your MBR

    Radix Rootkit Detection Tool

    • Right click on your Desktop and select New and fhen Folder to create a new folder on your Desktop. Name the folder Radix.
    • Download Radix from usec.at. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Download Radix icon. Save it to your Desktop in the new Radix folder just created.
    • Unzip the archive into this Radix folder you created.
    • Run the program by double-clicking the radixgui.exe.
    • Click Yes to accept the license agreement.

    • Click on the MBR tab
    • Hit the "Check" button at the bottom left of the screen
    • Once it has run a check look towards bottom right of screen and choose to "save log"
    • Attach this log into your next reply.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

    Here are both files, and I removed Leawo Free AVI Converter as well.

    No, that didn't work.

    There are a few things we could try yes, all of them a little more complicated that what we are doing here, however let me just ask, are you able to hunt around and borrow a CD so you can boot to the recovery console? This would make things alot easier if you could get hold of one. :)
