Works for me. It is possible that malware is blocking it on your computer....please finish the Read and Run First instructions and ATTACH the rest of the requested logs.

    I assume you started here
    https://forums.majorgeeks.com/threa...10-malware-removal-cleaning-procedure.139681/

Then you get sent here https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/malwarebytes_anti_malware.html

If you can't get either of the two download links to work there, go here
    https://www.malwarebytes.com/
and click the green Free download button.

    Does that work?
It will say Free Premium trial. Don't let that scare you. After 14 days, if you don't pay, it will change to the free version and will still work.

Sorry, but I can't replicate your error. It still takes me right to the download page.

One question, does the using Malwarebytes link redirect to the download page?

TimW MajorGeeks Administrator - Jedi Malware Expert Staff Member

Yes. It takes you directly to the link to download it.

Hmm, it's strange. I get error on Firefox and Microsoft edge mobile, but not a big deal I guess.

Are both of them the mobile versions?

I would assume so, but I'm not sure. I got the error on Firefox desktop too

But what you posted in #12 appears to be a phone shot. Are you trying to access these files/threads from a phone??

    No, happens on desktop too

I get the error on Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Edge and Brave. Chrome, Opera & Brave were all new installs and Edge hadn't been used prior to now.

Are you having malware issues? If so>

    Please go here > https://www.zemana.com/Download
their program is no longer free, but you can use the demo version for this cleaning.

It auto updates, and you click scan. After it's finished, click on the icon that looks like Cell phone strength bars. High-light the report (by date log was produced) and click on the "Open Report" icon. (looks like a folder). That notepad.txt can then be copied/pasted into another .txt doc and saved. Upload that, please.

For the link to not work on desktop and on mobile (also does not work through the Majorgeeks app), I don't see how it can be malware related. But I can try that when I get home. Malwarebytes came back clean on my desktop earlier when I did the comparison of browsers.

If you feel this is not malware related, then you need to post in the software section.

I have used this thread for several years. In the past, clicking on the link on how to use MBAM takes you to a screen that shows you which scan to use, what options to select, etc, the instructions, not the download link. I, too, am being directed to an error message.

    Using Malware Bytes Anti-Malware

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware ( See the download links under this icon http://forums.majorgeeks.com/chaslang/images/MGDownloadLoc.gif ) and save it somewhere you can find it to install it.

Important: Rename the downloaded mbam-setup.exe file to mb.exe to help work around certain malware that may block it from being run.

After downloading and changing the name ( if it will not run ), you will be asked if it is personal PC or work PC. Once it opens, click on the Scanner.

The Scanner card shows the time for the next scheduled scan, if you are using the Premium or Trial versions ( don't worry, if you don't upgrade to pro version, it will automatically change to the free version ). Any version of Malwarebytes shows a blue Scan button in this card. Click it to initiate a Threat Scan on your device. You can instead click anywhere else on this card to expand the Scanner menu. The expanded menu shows the following tabs:

Scanner: Click this tab to view details on your last scan, configure advanced scan options, and initiate a scan.
Scan Scheduler: Click this tab to view your scheduled scan and when they will initiate. Click the Schedule scan button and follow the on screen instructions to add a new scheduled scan and configure the start times and frequency. Only Malwarebytes Premium and Trial users can schedule scans.
Reports: Click this tab to view a list of previous scans and the times when they executed. Hover your cursor over the Scan Report entry to see options to view more details, download a text file version, or delete.

Please copy the text report and attach it to your next post.
