MGTools did not run to completion for some reason. Can you also explain why you have posted? What malware issues do you have? :confused

I received a message from Comodo that said something was on my system and it needed to be cleaned. I was given the option to use geekbuddy or clean it myself. I chose the clean myself option and was then given the option for Comodo to clean it, and i chose it, but I didn't see it in the quarantine. My system was acting funny, stalling, suddenly going slow. and showing symptoms that in the past were related to a virus.

Can you re run MGTools please, this time ensure it runs to completion, that protection software does not get in the way and that you run it as admin. It should then produce a complete set of logs for me to review.

It seems to have run this time. I was stopping it because I thought it was complete. I was unable to determine how to turn off IObit malware fighter. I attached the logs. I also just had a blue screen with the message about system recovered from a serious error.

    Thank you!

When I tried to submit the message I sent you, or log on to email it says the connection was reset, then it will go to the page..

I'm using Firefox mostly; however when it gets too much I switch to IE. I don't know if the issue exists with IE as well, because I don't stay there long. I also noticed that my search page results look smaller now, as of this morning, I think.

Yes, I don't think this relates to malware but let's try this as it might be easiest of all.

We are going to be uninstalling your old version of FireFox and installing the new version. So do the below to save bookmarks:

    • Run FireFox and click Bookmarks.
    • Then select Organize Bootmarks.
    • Then on the next window click File and then select Export. Save the bookmarks.html file to your Desktop for later use in importing.

Now download and save the installer for the current version of FireFox but DO NOT install it yet. Get it here: Mozilla FireFox

You will need to exit FireFox now and use Internet Explorer to continue with the below until we reinstall FireFox.

Start by uninstalling FireFox and then reboot. Do not skip the reboot.
After reboot, delete the below folders:
    • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    • C:\documents and settings\UserAccount\Application Data\Mozilla

where UserAccount is the actual user account name being used.

Now reinstall FireFox from the file previously downloaded.
Import your bookmarks file. (similar process to exporting).

    Any better now?

I followed the instructions and it didin't seem to help. The computer is still acting funny. It is starting slow ans cut off. I uninstalled Comodo and tried reinstalling it, since every time it starts it is not starting properly, and now it won't show up at all. I am going to try combofix.

You can try Combofix at your own risk, I do not believe the issues you are having now are malware related. I think you should post about them in the software forum.

Are you saying it is not a good idea ? I have no idea what else could be the problem. What would I even ask? Everything was fine til I receved that message from Comodo saying it blocked an attack, or something, and my systyem needed to be cleaned. Ever since then it has been haywire. Do you think Combofix is a bad idea, I havent run it yet?

    Thanks!

Uninstall Comodo and reinstall. See how things run then.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me! I just decided to buy a new computer, as I couldn't take any more. I am also just doing a clean install on the other one.
