Malware not letting anything run

I picked up some type of Malware. A program popped up and looks almost like a legitimate Malware/Spyware removal software. The name is "System Security". This thing is basically blocking anything that runs a .exe file. I can't run any of the tools in the "read me first". I can't even open "Add and Remove Programs". Any time I try to open anything (Firefox, IE, any of the Malware removal, anything with an exe) the "security software" has a pop-up in the lower right corner in the toolbar saying something like "Firefox.exe was prevented from running because it is infected, please activate security software now..."

I can reboot in normal mode, but I've tried to reboot in Safe Mode, but I get a blue screen that says something along the lines of "Window's has stopped start-up in order to avoid damage......."

I can't even connect to my router right now, as it has taken over the wireless connection manager (I'm on my wifes laptop right now.) But before it as disabled, I did get all of the downloads off of the "Try this first", I just can't run them.

Any ideas? I'm at a loss here. I'm not very computer advanced, just enough to make me dangerous I guess, but I don't know what to do here...

    Thanks!

    Nick

Wait, I think I found what I need. I need to end the process, but it won't let me use task manager. I guess "Process Explorer" works, but since it's shut down my wireless connection settings, I don't know how I'm supposed to download it... anyone have any ideas for me?

Which on a side note is pretty stupid, how am I supposed to pay for this phony software if it won't let me connect to the internet....

Another update. I got the Process Explorer on my Laptop by downloading on another laptop and burning it to a CD. But I can't get Malwarebytes to run. I run the mb.setup, and it gets to "extracting" and then freezes

Finally got it figure out. Just had to change the names around on the exe files even after I killed the "System Security" process. Got that deal removed and everything seems back to normal. Still going to go through the whole process in the READ ME FIRST.

Thanks for all of the replies!!!! ;)
