Malware On Mg??

Used Major Geeks for a long time now and although I have AdBlocker installed I have whitelisted MG. Just lately every time I try to download a file MalwareBytrs popd up a warning saying access to look.ichlnk.com (54.230.199.197?) has been blocked for an outgoing action. If I enable AdBlocxker I don't get this. Can you advise on this please as I wish to disabl;e AdBlocker on MJ as I realise you derive needed income from adverts.

It's up to you. If you don't want to be messed around by these things then just enable adblocker. It's that simple.

 

Yes I appreciate that I can enable AdBlocker but I am concious that MJ needs revenue in order to provide the excellent service it currently does. Therefore I would prefer to continue allowing MJ adverts so the MJ continues to benefit financially. I am asking what this link is and if it is placed there by MJ or if it is malware or a false positive.

 

Ask Malwarebytes for that specific warning and what it means - only they can tell you. Many of the websites that feed into MG servers create havoc (viglink is one of the worst) and redirections. So if you want to avoid that just continue to use ad-blockers.

 

The IP address belongs to Amazon Technologies in Seattle Washington. I wouldn't sweat it, unless you have concerns with Amazon.

 

Thanks for that. It does seem strange then that Malwarebytes picks it up if it is Amazon. I will see what happens by disabling MWB and confirm it. If legit I can whitelist it and restore ads on MG which I would prefer to do from a moral point of view.
