    Hi,
Thanks in advance for your help.
About a week ago, when I was using firefox i started getting redirected to other websites unwillingly. At that time I was running AVG but it stopped being able to open and scan my computer. I then installed kaspersky internet security but that wont open either (nothing happens when i try to open it). Then a few days ago both internet explorer and firefox ceased working and I get the message "internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" when I try to open them. Error signature. AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 7.0.6000.16945 ModName: Unknown ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00ff1626

I have gone through the steps posted on this site for removing malware. However, superantispyware recieves the same message as above when i try to run it "superantispyware has encountered a problem and needs to close".

Malwarebytes when I double-click to open just does not open or run.

ComboFix also does not open or run when tried.

RootRepeal and MGtools both worked and I have attached their logs.

Thankyou very much for your help.
    Vic

Please double-click the RootRepeal.exe previously downloaded.

    * Select File then Scan
    * On the Select Drives form select drive C by "ticking" the box for drive C and click OK
    * When the scan is complete - highlight each of the following file(s) (one at a time if more then one is listed) by left clicking it. Then use right mouse click and select the Wipe File option only for each file.
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\H8SRTcxlkytbqay.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\H8SRTdmyrjuhbdd.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\h8srtkrl32mainweq.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\H8SRTnjcjmtjdla.dat
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\H8SRTwktfocddok.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\Temp\H8SRTb5ce.tmp
    C:\WINDOWS\Temp\H8SRTbe2a.tmp
    C:\WINDOWS\Temp\H8SRTc733.tmp
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\H8SRTeawplrdvir.sys
    C:\Documents and Settings\Tori\Local Settings\Temp\H8SRTaa3c.tmp
    C:\Documents and Settings\Tori\Local Settings\Temp\h8srtmainqt.dll
    * After Wiping all files, immediately reboot your pc!

After reboot, download/install/update and run the scanning tools you couldn't run! Please attach those logs as well as a new log from running the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file.

Thanks for your help! I have followed your advice and now my internet is both working and not redirecting.

I rerun rootrepeal and wiped the files you listed. I have attached the new log.
I then rebooted and run the other programs. All of them worked this time.
I have attached all the logs.

Is there anything more I should do? I no longer have AVG on my computer and am wanting to upgrade to a good antivirus software so this doesnt happen again.

    Thanks.

Looks good. You have a few left overs from when you uninstalled AVG, so I would suggest you go to their website and use their removal tool so that these are removed:
    c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\avg9
    c:\program files\AVG
    C:\$AVG

You can use windows explorer to find and remove them as well as removing this:
    c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\sysReserve.ini

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real-time protection. They are useful as backup scanners. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    5. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    8. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures in step 3 the READ ME for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore ato create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
